Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Morris County

$5K third prize winner bought ticket at deli in Pompton Plains.

One Morris County lottery player will have a merrier holiday season than originally expected after winning a Mega Millions prize Tuesday night.

A third-prize winning ticket was sold at Deli Works on Newark Pompton Turnpike in Pompton Plains before the Tuesday night drawing, leading to a $5,000 cash prize for one lucky person.

No tickets matched all numbers for the jackpot, which now rolls to $125,000,000 for Friday’s drawing.

According to the New Jersey Lottery, had the player purchased the multiplier option, the ticket would have been worth $25,000.

The $5,000 ticket matched four numbers and the Gold ball. The winning numbers on a jackpot ticket were 41, 58, 68, 72, 73, and Gold Ball of 1.

The next drawing will be held Dec. 19 at 11 p.m.
