Winning Weekend for Minutemen Hoops, Hockey Teams
Double-digit victories for basketball teams; ice hockey improves with seventh win.

It was a solid weekend of winning for Mendham High School sports teams, as both basketball squads took home victories as the ice hockey team put up football scores against its opponent.
The girls hoops team took down Pope John on Saturday by a 48-38 score, thanks to Jaclyn Walsh who led the way for the Minutemen with 22 points and nine rebounds. Helping out was Aubree Udell who scored nine points on three 3-pointers, and Michelle Stanton who added seven points of her own.
The girls evened their record to 3-3 on the season with the victory.

The boys team stayed in county against Parsippany Hills and toppled its opponent by 20 points on the hardwood. Led by Jack Horan with 24 points and Nick D’Elia with 17, the Minutemen got stronger as the game went on, beating the winless Vikings 66-46.
Mendham is now 4-2 on the season.

The biggest win of the weekend came on the ice, as Mendham scored 13 goals against Pequannock en route to a 13-4 win. Matt Farina led the way for Mendham with a hat trick and two assists, but it was dish master Grant Jozefek who tallied eight points on the day, scoring twice and handing out six assists to his teammates.
Mendham improves its record to 7-1-1 on the season and drops Pequannock to 5-4-0.
