World War II Vet, Grandfather, Chester Man Dies at 87

David Towers was an Elder at Community Presbyterian Church of Chester.

David Towers has been around the world and then some, making the most of his 87 years.

The Chester resident of the past 27 years died last week at home, according to his obituary.

Towers was born in Dundee, Scotland and lived in Argentina before calling Chester home. He served in the British Army during World War II in England, India and Egypt. After the war, Towers worked internationally in sales and marketing for Ford. He was also an Elder of the Community Presbyterian Church of Chester.

Towers is survived by his wife, Jean, of 61 years, two daughters, and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Chester.
