• Chargers Girls Tennis' Winning Streak Stopped by Middlesex (tapinto.net subscription) — Spotswood High's girls tennis team saw its early-season winning streak snapped in a tight 3-2 road loss to Middlesex High School in Middlesex. The Chargers, last year's Greater Middlesex Conference Gold Division champs, are now testing themselves back in the tougher Blue Division and will host Bound Brook next, giving local fans another chance to support this experienced squad.
• Open house in Matawan to highlight available YMCA mental health support services (themonmouthjournaleastern.com) — Middlesex residents can tap free YMCA mental health resources highlighted at a Passport to Wellness open house in Matawan on Friday, Sept. 25. The YMCA of the Jersey Shore serves 65,000 people annually across Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean counties, offering counseling, addiction recovery, youth and family programs, and senior support. Attendees can meet staff, explore services, and enjoy refreshments and prizes.
