MIDDLESEX, NJ — Middlesex Borough Police are highlighting support for survivors as the department marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
In a message shared Monday, police said they are committed to responding with compassion, taking investigations seriously, connecting survivors with resources and holding offenders accountable.
Police said domestic violence can affect people of any age, gender, background or circumstance, adding that each case involves a person, family and story. The department said survivors deserve to be heard, believed, supported and treated with dignity.
Police encouraged residents to support survivors, honor victims, speak up against abuse and know the warning signs.
The department also shared its message alongside Women Aware, saying help is available for people experiencing domestic violence.
"Together, we can break the cycle of abuse," police said.
