Middlesex Fire Department Fishing Derby Rescheduled: New Date Announced

MIDDLESEX, NJ — The Middlesex Borough Fire Department Fishing Derby has a new date after the nor’easter changed its plans.

The fire department rescheduled the event from Saturday, Sept. 26, to Saturday, Oct. 3, at Victor Crowell Park. The department cited the incoming nor’easter and anticipated weather conditions, saying the change was made for the safety of “all participants and families.”

“We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and continued support,” the fire department said.

Sign-in begins at 9 a.m., according to the borough’s updated notice. Tickets cost $10 per person, and all proceeds benefit the Middlesex Fire Department.

The notice also lists food, raffles and prizes for the biggest fish in multiple categories. Prizes will be awarded after 1 p.m. The borough has not posted an ending time for the rescheduled derby.
