House Explodes: 1 Critically Hurt In Piscataway
A house exploded in New Jersey on Sunday, and one person was critically hurt, authorities said.
A house exploded and a man was critically injured early Sunday morning, authorities said.
The incident, which happened around 4 a.m. on Hopkinson Avenue, blew the house off its foundation, according to News12. A man in his 50s who lived in the home was inside at the time of the explosion and suffered second-degree burns.
The man, who was not identified, was airlifted to Saint Barnabas Medical Center and is in critical condition, according to the report. "It's fortunate that the individual is alive," Brian Wahler, mayor of Piscataway, told News12. "If you look at the scope of the damage that was done here, it's amazing that somebody could actually live through this."
