Monmouth County Commissioner Candidate Eduardo Castillo's pledge to scrap the tax on Monmouth Homeowners

The ADP is a radical tax experiment on Residents of Monmouth County, and it needs to end.

Monmouth County homeowners are tired of living in fear of their mailboxes. As your candidate for County Commission, I’m drawing a line in the sand.

The Assessment Demonstration Program (ADP) wasn't a mistake, it was a choice. It was crafted by the Republican controlled County Commission, turning Monmouth into a laboratory for a radical tax experiment.

Instead of stable property values, the ADP forces annual reassessments. It chases market peaks in real time, meaning if a house down the street sells for a premium, your "market value" (and your tax bill) could spike overnight.

This is a problem because seniors and families on fixed incomes can’t budget when their taxes are a moving target. 20% of the county is also under a rolling inspection cycle every single year. Not to mention, we are the only county in New Jersey running this program in its full statutory form. Why are we the only ones being penalized?

A home is a sanctuary, not a stock ticker. I support abolishing the ADP and returning to a system that provides stability, fairness, and respect for the taxpayer. We’ve been the "demonstration" for long enough. It’s time to get back to common sense.

Write in Eduardo Castillo for County Commission on the Democratic Primary Ballot early, and on election day June 2nd, for fiscal responsibility, and for a more accountable, open honest government here in Monmouth.
