MIDDLETOWN, NJ — IMA Urgent Care & Primary Care would like to thank everyone who donated to their bottled water and granola bar drive.
All of the donations were dropped off at local fire and EMS departments. Now that the hot days of summer have arrived, it will come in handy: Firefighters can suffer from heat exhaustion fighting fires in hot weather.
"Every day, our first responders dedicate themselves to serving others, often under challenging conditions," said Dr. Brendan Mulholland, IMA president. "This donation drive is a small way for us to show our appreciation for their commitment and sacrifice. We are incredibly grateful to our patients and community members who helped make this year's drive such a success."
“The Middletown Township Fire Department would like to thank IMA for the donation of water and snacks," said Middletown Fire Chief Daniel Kelly. "These supplies will be placed on the fire apparatus for the members to use after fighting a fire or standbys during extreme hot weather. Hydration is important for firefighters even when we think we don’t need it."
"One of the many fire service mottos is 'Everyone goes home,'" he added. "Hydration will aid us in accomplishing this. Thank you again to the organization and all the patients that donated to our cause."
