MIDDLETOWN, NJ — There was a two-car collision Friday at the intersection of Newman Springs and Half Mile Road, in the Lincroft section of Middletown.
The two cars collided at approximately 12:23 p.m. 911 callers reported that one of the vehicles caught fire.
Upon arrival, officers were met with a fire coming from the engine compartment of the car, but the driver and a 13-month-old in the car were able to get out safely on their own.
The Middletown Fire Department extinguished the fire.
There were four people injured in the crash and all injuries were minor and non-life-threatening. Middletown Emergency Medical Services responded and provided treatment. Three people were transported to Hackensack Meridian Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, and the other was brought to Hackensack Meridian's Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
