Settlement Proposed for Middletown Circus Liquors Site (tworivertimes.com) — Middletown officials have released a proposed settlement that would allow up to 450 housing units, including 68 affordable units, on the long-disputed former Circus Liquors site on Route 35. A court fairness hearing on October 2 in Freehold will determine whether the deal ends years of litigation and sets the final scale of development, capped at 500 units under a special adjudicator's report.

Jamison Delivers Late as Middletown South Edges Middletown North (shoresportsinsider.com) — Middletown residents saw a classic crosstown showdown as Middletown South's girls soccer team edged Middletown North 2–1 on a last-minute goal by senior Hayley Jamison. 3. MAC Music Cafe (newjerseystage.com) — Middletown music fans can look ahead to Sunday, November 1, when the Middletown Arts Center hosts a MAC Music Cafe featuring singer-songwriters Shotgun Bill, Scott Ivory, Renee Maskin, Joel D. Brodsky, and Michael Balog. The evening promises original Americana, indie, and rock storytelling from performers with deep New Jersey and regional roots.
   

4. Musicians on a Mission Song Circle & Food Drive (newjerseystage.com) — Middletown neighbors can gather at the Middletown Arts Center on Sunday, October 11 for a relaxed Musicians on a Mission Song Circle and food drive. Bring an instrument, a small admission fee, and food or monetary donations to support Fulfill and the Arts Center while enjoying several hours of live music and community connection.
   

5. Scudder Preserve: A Living Conservation Laboratory for All (tworivertimes.com) — Middletown residents can now explore Scudder Preserve in Navesink, newly accredited as a Level I Arboretum and open free for hiking, birding, and educational programs. The Monmouth Conservation Foundation is restoring habitats, improving trails, and offering guided hikes, nature art, and other fall activities, with visitors encouraged to park at nearby Huber Woods due to limited onsite parking.
