Kids' And Teens' October Programs At Middletown Public Library

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The Middletown Township Public Library (MTPL) has another fun line-up of programs for children and teens this October.

October at the library has storytimes, crafts and Halloween events for kids and teens. The line-up ranges from hands-on activities to Halloween-themed events. Registration is required for most programs and is available through the library calendar at mtpl.org.

Gymboree for Walkers/Babies – Thursday, October 1 at 10am and 11am: Gymboree of Red Bank will offer gym classes for toddlers and babies.

Rubber Ducky Storytime – Monday, October 5 at 4 pm: A special storytime for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten enrollees or those eligible for enrollment.

Tween Game Night – Tuesday, October 6 at 7 pm: Bring a friend or make a friend while playing games like Trivia, Bingo, Pictionary, HeadsUp and more. Ages 9–12.

Cards for a Cause – Wednesday, October 7 from 3–5 pm: Drop in to make Halloween greeting cards for Middletown seniors. Volunteer hours will be offered for each card, with a limit of 5 cards for 5 hours. For ages 13–18.

Fall Fest Firefighter Storytime & Touch a Truck – Monday, October 12 at 10 am: Kick off Fall Fest with a special storytime with a firefighter, followed by Touch a Truck outside the library!

Fall Fest Eyes of the Wild Animal Program – Monday, October 12 at 11 am: Join Eyes of the Wild to meet and learn about another fascinating group of animals with their handler Travis Gale.

Fall Fest Scarecrow Harvest PopDown Card Craft – Monday, October 12 at 2 pm: Graphic artists David & Susan Udovic create a unique PopDown® Card Craft for the fall season. Grades K–5.

Critters and Jitters at Huber Woods Park – Tuesday, October 13 at 11 am (ages 2–5) & Wednesday, October 14 at 4 pm (Grade preK–2): Join us at Monmouth County Park System's Huber Woods for a seasonal adventure! Children will enjoy a hayride, meet live animals up close and make a fall-themed craft to remember the day.

Painting Ceramic Ghosts Teen Art Program – Wednesday, October 14 at 7 pm: Decorate your own ceramic ghost using paint and other materials at this craft program for teens ages 13–18. Remember to dress for mess!

Treehouse Storytime & Craft with Monmouth Museum – Thursday, October 15 at 10 am: Join Monmouth Museum Volunteer Denise Hibell for a special craft based on the museum exhibit.

Read to a Dog – Thursday, October 15 at 4 pm: Improve the literacy skills of children by reading ten minutes to a certified therapy dog. Four sessions available for independent readers, grades K–5.

Teen Anime Club – Monday, October 19 at 4 pm: Dress up in your best anime or manga cosplay and join us for spooky crafts and activities!

Exploration Stations Fall Forest – Thursday, October 22 from 10 am–12 pm: Discover the magic of learning through play with Exploration Stations' sensory play program. Journey through themed stations that stimulate children's senses and curiosity while promoting early literacy an cognitive development. Ages 1–5.

Allergy-Safe Halloween Parade – Thursday, October 29 at 10 am: A yearly tradition at MTPL, families are invited to wear Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat throughout the library for non-food treats, open to all ages.

Pokemon Trading Program – Thursday, October 29 at 6 pm: Trade with fellow Pokémon fans, discuss Pokémon books and movies. Join us as we play the Pokémon trading card game. Bring your own deck. Ages 5–8.
