Middletown North girls soccer battles to draw against No. 10 SJV (nj.com subscription) — Middletown North girls soccer battled powerhouse St. John Vianney to a 2-2 home draw, with Lions goals from Sofia Chaknis and Peyton Kulka thrilling local fans. Despite being outshot, Middletown's goalkeepers combined for 14 saves as North briefly led in the second half before Vianney equalized.
   

3. Court Settlement Clears Way for 450 Homes at Former Calico the Evil Clown Property in Middletown (TAPinto.net) — A major court settlement has cleared the way for 450 new townhomes, including 68 affordable units, at the former Calico the Evil Clown property along Route 35 in Middletown. The scaled‑back plan, less than half the original proposal, will route traffic through Kings Highway East, Carton Way, and Kanes Lane, with tree buffers and environmental protections required before construction begins in coming years.
   

4. NJ ferry hits pier, shatters windows during morning commute (wobm.com) — Middletown commuters experienced a scare when the Molly Pitcher ferry struck a pier leaving the Belford terminal, shattering windows but causing no reported serious injuries. Passengers questioned why the trip continued to Manhattan, while Monmouth County and Middletown officials criticized NY Waterway for not notifying them and are now exploring inspections and accountability for the service residents rely on daily.
   

5. SUV driver charged in crash that critically injured baby, 2 adults (nj.com subscription) — A Keansburg man charged in a Linden crash that critically injured a baby and two adults previously served prison time for killing a 40-year-old Middletown woman and setting fire to her rented home, prosecutors say. Authorities are still investigating Monday's crash and are asking anyone with information to contact Union County investigators.
