Books, pencils and calculators are ready as Millburn students begin the 2026-27 school year Wednesday.

MILLBURN, NJ — Summer vacation is almost over for Millburn and Short Hills students, who will return to classrooms next Wednesday for the start of the 2026-27 school year.

The district serves 4,589 students across eight schools, including its elementary schools, Washington School, Millburn Middle School and Millburn High School.

Younger students will settle back into reading, writing and problem-solving, while middle and high school students return to academic courses, arts programs, athletics and extracurricular activities. The high school alone offers more than 30 Advanced Placement courses and upward of 60 clubs and organizations, according to the district.

It will be a quick return before the first holiday of the year. Schools will be closed Monday for Labor Day, giving families a long weekend shortly after classes begin.

Families can review the official district calendar, school hours and other opening information on the Millburn Township Public Schools website.
