The event emphasizes safe biking in Millburn and Short Hills, offers three distance options, and welcomes volunteers to help with setup and day-of support.

Millburn Board of Education Approves Technology, Facilities, and CurriculumโSupport Purchases (tapinto.net) โ Millburn's Board of Education has approved a slate of technology, facilities, and curriculum-support purchases that will shape classrooms and buildings this year, including new Apple art room equipment and updated math textbooks. Contracts also cover HVAC and automation maintenance, fire safety inspections, bus repairs, library research tools, and digitizing district records, all aimed at keeping Millburn schools' infrastructure and instruction up to date.

Paper Mill Playhouse Receives Grant to bring the Disney Musicals in Schools (DMIS) program to New Jersey (newjerseystage.com) โ Millburn's Paper Mill Playhouse has received a $150,000 Disney grant to launch free Disney Musicals in Schools residencies for Essex County public elementary schools, starting this school year. Up to four schools will be chosen for 2026โ27 and five more the following year, giving students and teachers professional support to stage 30-minute Disney KIDS musicals and build lasting arts programs.

Westfield field hockey: Blue Devils rebuild after graduating 11 seniors (nj.com subscription) โ Westfield's field hockey team opens its season today with a road game at Millburn, giving local fans a chance to see a largely rebuilt Blue Devils squad in action. After graduating 11 seniors, Westfield is leaning on a strong defensive core, several JV call-ups, and a few promising newcomers as it looks to reestablish itself in the Essex/Union Blue conference.
