Family-owned and operated for over 22 years, Right at Home of Essex County provides award-winning in-home care and support for older adults throughout Essex County, New Jersey. Based in West Orange and co-owned by mother-daughter team, Maeghan Scott and Melodie Toby, we help seniors remain safe, comfortable, engaged, and independent wherever they call home.

We understand that every family’s situation is unique. Whether a few hours of companionship each week, assistance after a hospitalization, dementia support, or full-time live-in care, our services are tailored to each client’s individual needs, routines, and goals. Our tenured caregivers assist with personal care, bathing, dressing, mobility support, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, companionship, and safety supervision.

One of the things that sets us apart is our responsiveness and hands-on approach. We know that care needs often arise unexpectedly, and we can frequently begin services within 24–48 hours - sometimes sooner in urgent situations. Families often tell us that we make stressful transitions feel more manageable through communication, compassion, and practical support.

We are especially experienced in helping families navigate transitions home from hospitals, rehabilitation centers or back to assisted living communities. Our team works closely with families and healthcare professionals to help create realistic, safe, and sustainable care plans at home.

In addition to traditional home care services, we proudly offer our ENRICH Program, a companionship-focused program designed to provide socialization, structure, cognitive stimulation, and meaningful engagement for older adults.
