Democrats Have Write-In Candidate for Committee Race
Michael Dana needs 25 votes during the primary to get on the ballot

The Democrats have a candidate to run for Township Committee this fall, but they need at least 25 people to write in his name during next month's primary.
Michael Dana, 47, Recreation Commission vice chairman, will run if he gets enough write-in votes. .
Dana, who has two businesses in town, said he has always volunteered his time during the 15 years he's lived in Millburn-Short Hills, including the two years he's spent on the Recreation Commission.

"I want to take everything I've learned and take it to the next level," he said.
Some of the issues he said he wants to tackle are environmental improvements, parking and taxes.

Dana, who runs Vantastic Shuttle, said his service can take 10 cars off the road with a full van. "It's a significant impact on the environment," he said.
Nick Romano, Democratic Township Committee chairman, said Dana is an excellent candidate that can relate to everyone, including people who are new to town and those who have lived in Millburn-Short Hills for a number of years.
The committee plans to send out letters to Democrats to get them to write in Dana's name during the June 2 primary, Romano said.
"We're working on getting people in line," he said.
Dana said he feels he's in a good position to get his name on the ballot because he knows so many people.
In addition to owning Vantastic Shuttle, Dana also runs Dana & Sons Baby Proofing. He's married to Jeri and has three children, a son who is a freshman at Millburn High School, a daughter who is a sixth grader at Millburn Middle School and a son who is in fourth grade at Glenwood Elementary School.
