Essex County Opening Warming Stations Because Of Cold Temperatures
In Essex County, warming stations will be open through tomorrow morning. Tonight's low is expected to be about 17 degrees.

Essex County officials have activated their Code Blue procedures through tomorrow morning because of the low temperatures, according to the Essex County website.
With the Code Blue activation, officials have opened a network of warming stations around the county. Those warming stations include some public libraries, senior centers, and firehouses. Warming stations are generally open during the day, while shelters provide overnight accommodations.
One of those shelters will be provided by Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless, Inc., according to the township’s website. In Montclair, doors for overnight shelter open at 9 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s high temperature is expected to reach about 22 degrees, while tonight’s low will be about 17 degrees. There’s a slight chance of snow tomorrow, when the highs will reach about 34 degrees, according to the weather service.
