Essex County: Used Tire Recycling Day 2016 Offers Disposal For Millburn Residents

Find out how to safely and responsibly get rid of old tires in Essex County on June 18.

Essex County will hold a free “Used Tire Recycling Day” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, at the Essex County Public Works facility at 99 West Bradford Avenue in Cedar Grove.

According to an event flyer, Essex County residents can drop off old tires with or without rims, with tire rims being recycled as scrap metal.

Commercial and large quantity users may not drop off items, event organizers stated.

Participants must show proof of Essex County residency at the site.

“There are some materials that should be removed from our regular waste stream because of their hazardous nature,” Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. stated. “Our Used Tire Recycling Day provides our residents with an opportunity to properly and safely dispose of unwanted tires in a safe and environmentally friendly way.”
