Exclusive New Jersey Premiere Screening of Groundbreaking Film “Decoding Annie Parker”

Don’t miss this exclusive New Jersey premiere screening of the groundbreaking film, “Decoding Annie Parker,” hosted by Cheri Ambrose, Founder of The Male Breast Cancer Coalition. Based on true events, the film tells the life-affirming story of two remarkable women: the irrepressible Annie Parker (played by Samantha Morton); a three-time cancer survivor who lost her mother and her sister to breast cancer, who crosses paths with the geneticist Dr. Mary-Claire King (played by Academy Award winner Helen Hunt). King's youthful resolve led to spectacular results—her proof in 1990 of the existence of the first gene for hereditary breast cancer, now known as BRCA1, which is considered one of the most important discoveries of the 20th century. The film is a “must see” for anyone who is a breast cancer survivor, anyone who knows someone who is—anyone!

Attendees will also get the “first look” at an extended clip of “Stepping Out of the Pink Shadow: A Male Breast Cancer Story.” This important new documentary by Black Water Creek Productions reveals the fears and taboos experienced by real-life male breast cancer survivors and the lack of attention that is given to men who suffer from the disease. The film also chronicles the incredible story of a father and daughter who were diagnosed with breast cancer at the same time and endured their battle with the disease together (and who both discovered, incidentally, that they were carrying the BRCA2 gene).

A panel of survivors, medical experts, etc. (still in formation) will lead a Q & A session following the screening. Each person attending will also receive a gift bag as a “thank you for your support!”

A portion of the night’s proceeds will go to fund the distribution of “Decoding Annie Parker” to  help to get this emotionally-moving film into more theaters, and help spread AWARENESS!
