Fallen Tree Shuts Brookside Drive

A tree fell across Brookside Drive, forcing the county to shut the road between Glen Avenue and South Orange Avenue Tuesday.

Workers were at the scene at about 1 p.m. to clear the tree from the road. County sheriffs also were on scene.

Heavy rains moved through the region late Tuesday morning and in the early afternoon. The National Weather Service issued an urban flood advisory for Essex County until 2:30 p.m.
