Greenwood Gardens To Host Bees, Birds and Butterflies Event In Short Hills
Greenwood Gardens in Short Hills will host a program titled "Bees, Birds, and Butterflies" on Saturday, July 23.
Short Hills, NJ – Greenwood Gardens in Short Hills will host a program titled “Bees, Birds, and Butterflies” on Saturday, July 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
According to a news release, the event will feature an interactive presentation from Beekeepers from Bee Bold Apiaries, sponsored by Overlook Medical Center, which will demonstrate how beekeepers care for bees, teach how honey is made and explain why pollinators are important.
A live, enclosed observation hive will be on display so visitors can watch live honey bees, the release stated.

In addition, experts from the Raptor Trust, a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation and well-being of birds of prey, will provide an exhibit featuring one of the live birds they have rescued and currently foster.
There will be storytelling focusing on birds, butterflies and bees on the Tea House lawn with Kyle from the Millburn Free Public Library.

Other event activities include crafts, face painting and snacks for sale.
According to a release, the first 50 participants will receive a jar of local honey (one per family). General admission is $10; adults 65 years and older and students with ID are $5. The event is free to Greenwood Gardens members and children under 12. Tickets can be purchased online at greenwoodgardens.org, or via phone at 973-258-4026. Walk-ins are welcome.
