MHS Literary Magazine Recognized

Earns "superior" honors in national competition

The Millburn High School Literary Magazine Word recently won the highest ranking "superior" award in the 2009 National Council of Teachers of English Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazine for last year's edition. A total of 489 schools entered the program, which recognizes excellent literary magazines. It's the third year Word has entered the competition, and it has been recognized each year by the organization for its "exemplary literary magazine."

The student editors for the 2007-2008 edition were Hamsini Sridharan, Mimi Wu, Dinesh Ayyapan, Elliot Mandel, Jacob Solomon, Sophie Soloway, Ethan Spielman, Cynthia Baker, Mariel Lanas, and Linda Gao. English teacher Minaz Jooma is the Faculty Advisor for Word.
