Millburn Firefighters Called to Hackensack Parking Garage Collapse

Millburn firefighters are among those who responded to Hackensack when a parking garage collapsed Friday morning.

The two firefighters and one officer are part of the Urban Area Security Initiative team based in Morristown. They are trained to perform search and rescues in addition to securing unstable buildings and other structures. The UASI team was called to Millburn in early June when a car struck a Millburn Avenue apartment building.

The parking garage at a Hackensack apartment building collapsed on Friday morning, according to various reports. The Record is reporting two people may be trapped inside vehicles inside the garage. The Star Ledger also has a report.
