Millburn High School Junior Wins Louis Bay Scholarship Award

A high school student from Millburn was announced as one of the three state winners of the annual NJLM Louis Bay Scholarship.

MILLBURN, NJ – A Millburn High School student was recently announced as one of the three statewide winners of the 2018 NJLM Louis Bay Scholarship.

Akanksha Chauhan, a junior at Millburn High School, wrote an essay on the importance of municipal government and what she thinks her township's municipal government does best. In her essay, Akanksha highlighted the importance of the Millburn municipal police department, while also commending the altruistic service of everyone who works in local government.

As part of the prize for winning the scholarship, Akanksha received $1000 from Mayor Cheryl Burstein and will also have her essay displayed in the 2018 October edition of the New Jersey Municipalities Magazine.
