Millburn Launches Twitter and Instagram Accounts

Residents can now get instant updates by following Millburn on Twitter and Instagram. Both social media accounts were launched this month.

This month, Millburn Township joined Twitter and Instagram to keep residents up to date online and on the go. Followers will see instant updates on road closings, town events, and photos of happenings downtown. This week’s social media launch is part of an ongoing effort to improve communications with Millburn residents.

“Twitter will be set up to distribute emergent information to residents in a manner that will potentially maximize communication, even in the event of power outages in the Township,” a representative from the Township stated. “Some examples of tweets will include, cancellation of events and of course pertinent information during severe weather, such as a hurricane.”

In order to capture all of the beautiful and newsworthy moments around town, Instagram will be utilized to share pictures and information regarding Township events and recreation programs. Millburn officials will also use Instagram to showcase images and updates of Township projects, i.e. engineering endeavors, that are in progress around town.
