Millburn Memorial Day Parade Names Grand Marshal
John 'Jake' Dalton will serve as Millburn Township's Grand Marshal for 2019.

MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn Township Memorial Day parade is officially back for 2019 with festivities set for Saturday, May 25 and John “Jake” Dalton will serve as Grand Marshal.
According to officials, the American Legion Post 140 and the Township of Millburn are hosting the event to honor and celebrate those who have served.
The parade will kick off at Millburn High School at 10 a.m. and make its way down Millburn Avenue, culminating at Taylor Park. There, Memorial Day ceremonies will commence at 11 a.m., ending with refreshments and entertainment.

All friends, families and neighbors of Millburn and Short Hills are welcome to join the day's festivities.
The event will also commemorate the American Legion's 100 year anniversary.

Dalton, a lifelong Millburn Township resident who enlisted in the army in 1943 after graduating from Millburn High School, is a World War II veteran who served in the South Pacific as an Aviation Ordnanceman. After returning from the war, Dalton attended Seton Hall University and went on to marry fellow Millburn resident Ruth Drummond, with whom he had four children and ten grandchildren.
Dalton has remained an active member of the Millburn community, having won numerous public service awards including the Patriot Award for his commitment to both country and the local community. Dalton has also previously served as Grand Marshal of the Millburn Memorial Day Parade.
