In Millburn: Shoplifting $6,000 Worth of Clothes, Credit Card Fraud

Police Blotter: April 30 to May 3

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are taken directly from the Millburn Police Blotter, which may not include the full scope of police activity in the area. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On April 30, 2015, Millburn Police responded to Bloomingdales at The Mall at Short Hills on a report of a theft which had just occurred. The suspects had reportedly entered a Nissan and left mall property. The vehicle was stopped by Summit and Millburn officers on Rt. 78.

Bloomingdales personnel reported that four individuals shoplifted merchandise from the store and fled in the car. Investigation by officers on scene resulted in the recovery of $6,085 worth of merchandise and the arrests of three men and a juvenile female.

Louis Moore-Love and Bornreality Boatwright, both 23, of Brooklyn, and Dimel Hickman, 26, of Manhattan, were charged with shoplifting. A 16-year-old female from Coney Island also faces shoplifting charges. The four were released pending court dates.

On May 1, 2015, Officer Michael Tichenor responded to the Gucci store in The Mall at Short Hills on a report of a possible credit card fraud. Investigation on scene resulted in the arrest of Harun Crosby, 35, of Newark, on charges of forgery and credit card fraud. Crosby is alleged to have used a credit card of another to purchase $650 worth of merchandise at Gucci. Crosby was released pending a court date.

On May 3, 2015, Officer Lester Manuyag responded to the Chanel store in The Mall at Short Hills on a report of a credit card fraud having just occurred. Store personnel reported that Su 0. Chen, 32, of Brooklyn, attempted to purchase merchandise valued at $4,900. A credit card Su presented was declined. Su then presented a second credit card. The credit card company notified store personnel that the account information did not belong to him. Su was placed under arrest and charged with credit card fraud, and was released pending a court date.
