Police Investigate, Make Arrests at Mall at Short Hills

Also, there was a burglary on Slayton Drive.

Millburn police were at the Mall at Short Hills again for investigations and arrests during the last week.

Police are searching for a man who masturbated in front of a woman at the mall. The victim reported to mall security on Thursday afternoon a man started masturbating after she had exited the mall and had entered her car. She believes the man had been following her inside the mall, police said, and the man reportedly left in a silver SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe. Detectives request that the victim contact them at 973-564-7017.

On Friday, police arrested a 17-year-old juvenile from Richmond Hill, N.Y. for shoplifting and possession of an antishoplifting or inventory control device countermeasure. He is accused of concealing merchandise valued at $705 in a specially lined shopping bag at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Two Morristown residents were arrested on drug charges on Thursday in the mall parking deck. A police sergeant was on patrol when he saw a person duck down in front of a parked car, police said.  Police arrested the driver's seat occupant, Frank E. D'Angelo, 20, and the passenger seat occupant Nicole E. Ramirez, 19, for possessing controlled substances. D'Angelo was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of Oxycontin and Ecstasy, failure to deliver a controlled dangerous substance to law enforcement and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ramirez was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of Oxycontin and Ecstasy, possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana, failure to deliver a controlled dangerous substance to law enforcement and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police Investigating Burglary

Millburn police are investigating a Slayton Drive burglary that was reported on Thursday.

A neighbor reported seeing a back door standing open, and an investigation found the door was forced open, police said. It was unknown if anything was missing at the time of the report. Police believe the incident happened between June 21 and the time of the report.

Teens Arrested for Drug Possession

Two Millburn teens and a Summit teen were arrested for possessing drugs in Old Short Hills Park on Thursday.

Millburn police approached two vehicles parked in the park at just before 10 p.m. on Thursday before arresting the three 17-year-olds, whose names were withheld because of their age. They are accused of possessing 50 grams or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
