Police Investigate Wellington Avenue Burglary
A total of $12,000 in property was reported stolen.

Police are investigating a burglary at a Wellington Avenue residence.
The homeowner reported returning home on Thursday to find an open window and the screen removed. Property in excess of $12,000 was reported stolen. It includes camera equipment and jewelry.
Police believe the burglary happened between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Millburn Police Detective Bureau at 973-564-7017.

Driver Issued Summonses After Debris Falls from Truck
A Springfield resident was issued a summonses after debris fell from his vehicle on Route 24.

The debris was reported near Canoe Brook Road on Wednesday just before 10 a.m. One motorist reported possible undercarriage damage to her vehicle caused by the falling debris.
The driver of the truck, Marco Hernandez, 49, of Springfield was issued a summons for vehicle loaded so as to spill and failing to exhibit an insurance card.
An off-duty Summit police sergeant stopped the truck near the Mall at Short Hills, police said, and a crew from the state Department of Transportation arrived to clean up the fallen debris. The debris consisted of building renovation waste including sheet rock, wooden studs, doors, insulation and cardboard.
Dog Left Inside Car on Essex Street
A dog was left inside a hot car on Essex Street drew police and animal control officers on Thursday afternoon.
An unattended dog was locked inside the car without proper ventilation near the Department of Public Works, police said. Animal control officers used a heat-measuring device to determine the temperature was over 100 degrees.
The owner returned to the vehicle during the investigation, and the incident was referred to the animal control officer.
Police Investigate Thefts, Make Arrests at Mall
The Millburn police investigated thefts at the Mall at Short Hills and made several arrests last week.
On Sunday, police arrested Tal Shahin, 56, of Roslyn, N.Y., and charged her with shoplifting for an incident at Neiman Marcus. Se is accused of concealing an Elie Tahari tote valued at $898 in a shopping bag and exiting the store.
On Saturday, police arrested Tiffany I. Hamilton, 23, of East Orange, and charged her with shoplifting for an incident at Neiman Marcus. She's accused of placing three articles of clothing on a baby stroller and exiting the store. The items had a combined value of $494.
On Friday, police investigated a theft of a Louis Vuitton handbag from Neiman Marcus. The handbag has a value of $2,040.
On Wednesday, police arrested two 17-year-olds from Holmdel and charged them with shoplifting at Saks Fifth Avenue. They are accused of each concealing a bathing suit. One was valued at $59 and the other at $60.
