Police Make Shoplifting Arrests at Short Hills Mall

Several arrests made at the mall, and a burglary was reported at a residence.

Millburn police were again at the Mall at Short Hills several times last week for investigations and arrests.

On Sunday, they were called to Neiman Marcus on a report of a shoplifter. Francine Gallicchio, 45, of Lakewood, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. She is accused of carrying a bag containing numerous articles of merchandise out of the store without paying. The merchandise has a combined value of $6,592.50.

On Dec. 9, police arrested Natalie M Quinones, 28, of Brooklyn, and Starr E. Weisenberg, 29, of the Bronx, at Saks Fifth Avenue and charged them with shoplifting. Police said Quinones concealed merchandise valued at $480, and Weisenberg concealed merchandise valued at $612.

In another incident at Saks Fifth Avenue, police arrested Laura J. Lambert, 46, of Laguna Beach, Calif., and charged her with shoplifting on Dec. 8. She is accused of concealing two sweaters with a combined value of $943 in a shopping bag and leaving the store.

Also on Dec. 8, police arrested Steffeisha A. Kennedy, 29, of Brooklyn, and George S. Braham, 34, of St. Albans, N.Y., and charged them with receiving stolen property and possession or use of any antishoplifting or inventory control device countermeasure.

The investigating officer responding to the mall was told a theft occurred at Diesel and he recovered a specially-lined purse that contained a pair of Diesel jeans valued at $220 with the security sensor tag still attached. Also in the purse were several items from Bebe with the sensor tags attached, police said. The officer also recovered an additional lined bag that contained merchandise and a small bolt cutter tool.

Kennedy and Braham were detained in the parking lot of the mall before they were arrested for their involvement.

Burglary Reported on Great Oak Drive

Police are investigating a burglary on Great Oak Drive, which was reported on Dec. 10.

Police said jewelry was stolen from a jewelry box, and the value had not been determined at the time of the report. The homeowner told police the burglary happened between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry.
