Short Hill's Greenwood Gardens Seeks 2017 Docents

Greenwood Gardens invites members of the public to join the team of volunteers in Millburn for the 2017 season.

From Greenwood Gardens: Greenwood Gardens, a 28 acre historic public garden in Short Hills, NJ seeks outgoing individuals who enjoy nature, local history, and working with the public to become garden docents for the 2017 Season. Greenwood Gardens is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect people to nature in an historic garden oasis.

Guided tours at Greenwood are to educate the public and enhance the visitor experience. Garden docents are highly valued members of the Greenwood Gardens team. They greet and provide orientation to the gardens, and lead small groups on 45 minute walking tours.

A docent training seminar will be held on Thursday, March 30, from 10am until 3pm. Volunteers will learn Greenwood’s history and become familiar with the garden’s unique horticultural and architectural features. As the season progresses, garden docents work with a mentor until they are ready to lead tours on their own.
