KENILWORTH, NJ – On Thursday, October 29th, 2015, Amy Yin, resident of Short Hills and owner of Amy Yin Interiors of Short Hills, was presented the 2015 Legacy Partner Award for ten years of financial support, volunteerism, and partnership with Homefirst Interfaith Housing and Family Services in Plainfield, NJ. The award was presented at the Galloping Hill Golf Club in Kenilworth, NJ as part of Homefirst’s Annual Evening of Thanks celebration to honor outstanding leaders who support Homefirst’s mission to alleviate homelessness in Union County. Over 160 people attended the event.
Amy Yin Interiors offers pro bono design services and donates a majority of the company’s profit to local nonprofit organizations each year. Accepting the award, Amy Yin especially thanked her clients for choosing to hire a design firm that gives back, saying “Because of you, we get to spend our days adding beauty and comfort to this world -- in your homes and offices, and in the community-at-large through our nonprofit partnerships.”
Amy Yin first became involved with Homefirst back in 2005 then volunteered in various capacities, including refurbishing a gathering room in the Family Success Center in Plainfield, according to Judy Musicant and Lisa Glover, co-presidents of Homefirst’s board of trustees.

“For each of the families we serve, a place to call home has not always been a certainty”, said Debbie-Ann Anderson, Homefirst’s new Executive Director and the former Executive Vice-President of United Way of Greater Union County. “Many of our families have experienced food scarcity, lack of adequate access to health care and nights spent in a shelter unsure of what tomorrow holds. To continue to carry out our mission, we rely on corporate partners and leaders like Amy Yin Interiors and appreciate their steadfast support.“
Special guests for the evening included New Jersey State Assemblywoman Annette Quijano, Elizabeth City Council President Patricia Perkins-Auguste and Commissioners for the Board of Education of the City of Elizabeth: Charlene Bathelus and Stan Neron.
