Short Hills Resident Honored for Philanthropic Efforts

Nonprofit organization recognizes Raymond Blau at annual fundraising event.

SHORT HILLS, NJ — The Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest NJ (JVS) recently honored a group of individuals for their outstanding philanthropic efforts, including Short Hills resident Raymond Blau, founder and chairman of Commercial Furniture Interiors (CFI).

On June 21, the nonprofit, community-based health and human service organization held its annual Taste and Toast fundraising gala at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange to "thank those who continuously perform at the highest level to carry out the JVS mission of 'Helping People to Help Themselves.'”

This year, the event raised $350,000 to improve the life-enhancing services that the organization offers to its diverse clientele, the JVS stated.

"Blau was initially drawn to JVS once he visited the organization’s East Orange location and witnessed the services that it provides to help individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) gain employment in the community. He has spent years as a JVS Board member and recently volunteered his company to help with the design, planning and logistics for the organization’s move to a new, modern location."
