Soccer Team Collecting Soccer Equipment

Bring new or gently used gear to tonight's game against Seton Hall Prep.

The boys soccer game tonight pits two of the best teams in the state when the Millers take on Seton Hall Prep, but it's not the only thing happening.

The game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Millburn High School, and the varsity boys soccer team will also be collecting new and gently use soccer equipment to "passback" to adults and children locally and in third world country. It's part of the U.S. Soccer Foundation's Passback Program.

The team will accept all type of equipment a soccer player could use, including jerseys, shorts, shin guards, socks, cleats, balls, bags and water bottles. Gently used means it's not torn, exessively dirty or overall ruined.

Jerseys can have logos and numbers on them, and balls do not need to be deflated. Donations for both adults and youth sizes are accepted.

According to the Passback Program Web site, the program is an initiative of the U.S. Soccer Foundation to help meet the soccer uniform and equipment needs of all communities, regardless of income, gender or location.
