Stanford Recruits Short Hills Lacrosse Player

Carolyn Bradley is among seven players who signed letters of intent this week.

Carolyn Bradley, of Short Hills, is among the seven lacrosse players who signed letters of intent with Stanford University this week, the team's coach, Amy Bokker, announced.

Jennifer Lang, of Morristown and a student at the Pingry School, which has its lower school in Short Hills, also signed a letter.

Also signing letters of intent were Jacqueline Candelaria of Encinitas, Calif.; Elizabeth Adam of Severna Park, Md;  Amanda Hechinger of Washington, D.C.;  Kathryn Newhouse of Alexandria, Va. and Ryan O'Shea of McLean, Va.

"Overall, what was most important for us was trying to get people that would fit in well with what we're doing and with the girls on the team," Bokker said. "And they all are a great fit."

Bradley is a defender-midfielder from Kent Place School in Summit. She is a four-year letter winner and team captain in lacrosse, soccer and swimming.

Bradley was an Academic All-American and Under Armour underclassman All-America choice in 2008. She is a first-team all-county selection in soccer and a National Merit commended scholar.

Lang, a midfielder-attacker from The Pingry School, is a three-sport standout in lacrosse, field hockey and swimming. She was an all-area selection and team captain.

Stanford (12-8 in 2008) is a four-time defending Mountain Pacific Sports Federation champion and finished last season ranked No. 18 by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
