Two Taken to Hospital After Brookside Crash

The drivers of two vehicles were injured in a car crash near the Paper Mill Playhouse.

Two people were taken to the hospital after a car crash on Brookside Drive late Thursday.

Millburn firefighters had to extricate the driver of a Toyota Solara with Florida license plates, according to a Millburn Fire Department report. He and the driver of a 2010 Volkswagen CC were taken by the Millburn-Short Hills First Aid Squad to Overlook Hospital.

Firefighters had to remove the driver side front door to help the driver of the Toyota from the vehicle. They then stabilized his spine at the scene.

The report states it was a two-car, head-on collision near 24 Brookside Drive, which is the bend in the road just north of the Paper Mill Playhouse. The two drivers were the only passengers in the vehicles. Firefighters also used a drying agent to remove fluids spilled by the two vehicles from the road.
