Essex County, NJ – It may be time to say goodbye to one of the most infamous urban exploration sites in Essex County, but the memory of the old Essex County Hospital Center will live on.
Joel Nadler, a high school senior from Metuchen and an Eagle Scout, recently told Patch that he’s nearing the completion of a documentary about the defunct and soon-to-be-demolished hospital center in Cedar Grove, also known as Overbrook Asylum.

“I've interviewed a few residents and a local historian for the project,” Nadler said. “It has been amazing to learn about the hospital and when I am finally done, I plan to do a showing in Cedar Grove for the residents of the town.”
