2 Assaults Reported In Montclair Last Weekend, Police Say
The first attack happened Saturday near a school, police said. The other assault took place Sunday near Lackawanna Plaza.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Two assaults were reported in Montclair last weekend, authorities said Tuesday.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the first attack happened Saturday on New Street. The victim said that three males approached him as he was walking past the Charles Bullock School and asked him for money. When the victim replied that he didn’t have any, they assaulted him.
The victim sustained a large cut on the right side of his nose and another cut near his left eyebrow. The Montclair Ambulance Unit responded to the scene and transported the victim to St. Joseph's University Medical Center for treatment.

LACKAWANNA PLAZA
On Sunday, another assault took place near Lackawanna Plaza, police said.

The victim said he was sitting outside in Lackawanna Plaza, when a “heavyset” man about 5 feet 5 inches and riding a blue or silver bicycle approached and attacked him. The man stole the victim’s phone and fled the scene, authorities said.
The victim sustained contusions to his forehead and underneath his eyes, Montclair police said.
