2 Car Fires In Montclair On Same Day; Vehicle Severely Damaged
A car fire broke out on North Willow Street. It took place on the same day that a multi-vehicle fire happened at Montclair State University.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A car fire broke out in Montclair earlier this week, authorities said. It took place on the same day that a multi-vehicle fire took place at Montclair State University.
According to an incident report from the Montclair Fire Department, firefighters responded to the 10-block of North Willow Street around 7:09 a.m. on Wednesday after getting a report about a vehicle fire near a building.
Firefighters arrived to find a Dodge Charger with its engine compartment in flames, with overhead power lines nearby.

Firefighters managed to put out the blaze, but damage to the vehicle was severe. No injuries were reported, authorities said.
The vehicle was towed from the scene, and Montclair township workers responded to the scene to salt the roadway, authorities said.

A nearby parking garage had a light smoke condition as a result of the fire. Emergency responders used a fan to clear the smoke, authorities said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A separate fire involving multiple vehicles took place in Montclair on the same morning at a parking deck at Montclair State University.
