2 Cars Stolen In Montclair, Other Suspicious Incidents Reported: PD
Both victims said they left their key fobs inside their vehicles, Montclair police said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Two vehicle thefts took place in Montclair last week, authorities say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the following incidents were reported in the township:
- June 8 – (Bloomfield Avenue) A woman reported that her 2004 grey Saab was stolen from Bloomfield Avenue. The victim believes she left her key fob inside. It was recovered unoccupied on June 10 in Newark, authorities said.
- June 10 – (Cooper Avenue) A resident reported that a 2022 BMW X5 was stolen from his driveway at approximately 5:45 p.m. The key fob was reportedly left inside of the vehicle, authorities said.

- June 11 – (Clarewill Avenue) A man reported was sitting in his 2015 Porsche, which was parked in his girlfriend’s driveway, when a dark-colored BMW 5 series pulled up alongside the driveway and blocked him in. Two people wearing ski masks and gloves exited the rear of the BMW and approached the Porsche. When they saw that it was occupied, they ran back to the BMW and fled west towards Park Street, authorities said.
- June 11 – (Lloyd Road) A resident reported that she was in her backyard when she observed a man wearing a dark shirt, dark pants and a black mask enter her property from the shrubs and approach her Mercedes GLS wagon. The man entered the vehicle but was unable to start it. He then fled towards an awaiting vehicle near Hoburg Place, authorities said.
