2 Home Burglaries Reported In Montclair: Police
A burglar entered a Montclair resident's home while he was out running errands. An arrest was made in a separate burglary case, police said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A pair of home burglaries were recently reported in Montclair, police announced Tuesday.
The Montclair Police Department released the following details about each incident:
Sept. 1 (New Street) – A resident reported that his apartment was entered while he was out running errands. Entry was made through an unlocked rear door. The apartment was ransacked. At the time of the report, it was unknown if anything was stolen, police said.

Sept. 3 (Union Street) – At approximately 11:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to a Union Street residence on a report of a burglary in progress. Responding officers located the suspect, a 45-year-old male from Hamilton, attempting to gain entry through a rear door. He was charged with criminal attempt burglary and possession of a controlled dangerous substance after narcotics were found in his possession, police said.
