2 Montclair Residents Arrested In Multi-County Drug Raids

Two Montclair residents were arrested as part of a narcotics investigation that spanned three counties, prosecutors said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Two Montclair residents were recently arrested along with four other North Jersey residents as part of a narcotics investigation that spanned three counties, prosecutors said.

Officers from Hudson County and the Hoboken Police Department arrested six people and carried out multiple search warrants in Hoboken, Jersey City, Elizabeth and Montclair on Nov. 16 after a months-long investigation.

Police seized seven handguns – two of which were reported stolen – 17 kilograms of suspected heroin/fentanyl, 2.5 kilograms of cocaine and other “illegal narcotics” during the raids. The drugs had a street value that topped $15 million, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police also seized more than $20,000 in suspected proceeds from narcotics transactions, authorities said.

The arrestees included Darryl Mobley, 37, and Erica Rivera-Mobley, 41, both of Montclair. They were charged with offenses including operating a controlled dangerous substance production facility (heroin/fentanyl/cocaine), two counts of conspiracy to distribute, possession with intent to distribute, and multiple weapons charges.

Prosecutors thanked cooperating agencies for their help with the investigation, including the Montclair Police Department, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the Essex County Tactical Response Team and the Essex County K9 Unit.
