2 Montclair Restaurants Report Crimes On Same Day: Police
One business had its front window shattered with a hammer. Another reported an incident involving used cooking oil, Montclair police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A pair of Montclair businesses reported crimes on the same day last week, police say.
The Montclair Police Department released the following statements about each incident:
Feb. 15 - (Bloomfield Avenue) “An employee of Crockett’s Fish Fry reported an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the business at some point between 9 p.m. on Feb. 14 and 11 a.m. on Feb. 15. The actor(s) used a hammer to shatter a front window, however, it is unknown if entry was successfully gained. There were no reported items missing.”

Feb. 15 - (Walnut Street) “An employee of Pappardelle Restaurant reported that a metal tie lock from two drums used to collect used cooking oil had been cut. Both tanks were empty upon discovery of the damage. It is unknown how much oil was taken. Had they been full at the time, the oil was estimated at $2,400.”
