2 Robberies Reported In Montclair; Taser, Car Stolen: Police

Montclair Police: A pair of men in face masks robbed a woman with a taser. A group of people pushed a man to the ground and stole his car.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A pair of robberies were recently reported in Montclair, one of which involved a taser, police say.

According to the Montclair Police Department, a robbery took place on Monday on Cloverhill Place.

The victim told officer that the robbery happened as she was walking near the intersection of Cloverhill Place and Grove Terrace.

The victim said that two men approached her – one armed with a black taser – and demanded she hand over her wallet. She gave them $20 in cash and they fled south on Cloverhill Place, police said.

Police said the suspects were described as men in their late teens or early twenties, about 5 feet 8 inches with medium builds. They were wearing face masks and dark-colored, hooded sweatshirts and pants.

MISSION STREET ROBBERY

According to Montclair police, another robbery took place on Dec. 1.

The victim told officers that he was walking on Mission Street when four or five unknown people approached him from behind, pushed him to the ground and went through his pockets, taking a set of car keys.

The group then found the victim’s vehicle, a 2019 Dodge Caravan, and stole it, police said.

The victim sustained injuries to his face but refused medical attention. His vehicle was recovered the next day unoccupied on Woodland Avenue in Montclair, police said.

The victim was unable to provide a description of the suspects, police said.
