21 Montclair High School Students Earn ‘NJ Seal Of Biliteracy’
These Montclair students earned state recognition for their ability to speak Spanish, French, German, Hebrew and Latin.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A total of 21 seniors at Montclair High School recently earned a New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy.
According to a district news release, this was the Montclair Public School District’s third year participating in the program. Administrators said that 13 seals were earned in Spanish, five in French, one in German, one in Hebrew and one in Latin.

“The Seal of Biliteracy is an official recognition from the New Jersey Department of Education. The Seal is a nationally recognized credential that attests to each recipient’s unwavering dedication to proficiency and global citizenship. The Seal affirms that these seniors are prepared to utilize the language that they have acquired as they commence their post-secondary pursuits. All recipients of the Seal have demonstrated Intermediate-Mid or higher proficiency in at least one language other than English and have fulfilled their English Language Arts graduation requirement.”
