3 Burglaries Reported In Montclair: Jewelry, TV, Cash Stolen

Recent thefts in Montclair included $20,000 in jewelry, a 43-inch television and a lock box containing about $9,500 in cash.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Recent burglaries in Montclair included $20,000 in jewelry, a 43-inch television and a lock box containing about $9,500 in cash, authorities say.

The Montclair Police Department released the following statements about each theft on Tuesday.

June 24 (Berkeley Place) - A victim reported that she discovered about $20,000 worth of jewelry stolen from her jewelry box. She reported that two, white-gold men’s diamond rings, one white-gold women’s double Tiffany diamond ring, and one white-gold women’s wedding band were among the missing items.

June 25 (Oxford Street) - A victim reported that while in the process of moving out of his apartment, a Roku 1080D 43-inch television was stolen from his living room.

June 27 (Lackawanna Plaza) - An employee of John’s Automotive reported that nearly $9,500 was stolen from a lock box located in an office. Surveillance video shows a man with a beard wearing a white t-shirt, red shorts, a red baseball cap, and black and white sneakers with red laces enter the shop through the northwest door on Glenridge Avenue. The suspect was also carrying a box of candy. The man was seen entering the office and going through the drawers and file cabinets, eventually locating the lock box. He then fled towards Lackawanna Plaza.
