3 Candidates Seek NJ Libertarian Nod As 2025 Governor Race Heats Up

NEW JERSEY — Three candidates are seeking the Libertarian nomination for governor as the gubernatorial election heats up in the Garden State.

According to a spokesperson, the following candidates are seeking a spot on the New Jersey Libertarian Party line in 2025: John Mirrione, Francis Rella and John Morrison.

A gubernatorial debate is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 in the Cook Student Center of Rutgers University (room 202), 59 Biel Road in New Brunswick. There is no door fee and the event is open to the public. It will also be livestreamed on the party’s YouTube page.

The New Jersey Libertarian Party 2025 convention will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at the same location. All are welcome to attend. A pre-convention gathering with candidate presentations and a Q&A session will take place via Zoom on Friday, March 21. Learn more here.

As of March 1, the Libertarian Party remains the third-largest political party in New Jersey with 24,352 registered voters, according to the most recent state election data.
