3 Cars Recovered After Thefts In Montclair, Police Say

Montclair Police: Vehicles were stolen on Summit Avenue, Union Street and Church Street. Each was later recovered out of town.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Vehicles were recently stolen on Summit Avenue, Union Street and Church Street in Montclair, police announced Tuesday. Each car was later recovered.

The Montclair Police Department released the following statements about each incident:

  • Oct. 20 – (Summit Avenue) “The resident reported that her 2015 Ford Mustang was stolen from her driveway. She reported that she heard her vehicle start at 6:11 a.m. and when she looked out the window, she observed her vehicle fleeing east on Summit Avenue towards Grove Street. The vehicle was recovered on Oct. 23 in Irvington.”
  • Oct. 20 – (Union Street) “The resident reported that his 2011 Ford Escape was stolen from the rear parking lot of his building. The vehicle was recovered several hours later in West Orange. A 30-year-old Montclair man was charged with receiving stolen property by West Orange police.”
  • Oct. 22 – (Church Street) “The victim reported that he left his 2017 Range Rover in line at a valet parking stand on Church Street. While it was unattended, witnesses observed a tall, thin male, approximately 25-years-old, wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt and jeans enter the car and drive away. The vehicle was recovered on Oct. 24 on Lincoln Avenue in Newark.”
