3 Robberies Reported On Same Day In Montclair
Three separate robberies took place Monday on Bloomfield Avenue, New Street and Maple Avenue, Montclair police said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Three separate robberies were reported on Monday in Montclair. Each incident involved multiple suspects, police said.
The first robbery took place around 1:15 a.m. on Bloomfield Avenue. The 33-year-old victim told officers that two juveniles approached him and demanded that he hand over his money, authorities said.
One of the suspects allegedly made a gesture that implied he had a gun, police said.

The victim was able to make enough noise to cause another man to come to his aid. The suspects then fled south on Mission Street, police said.
The first suspect was described as a male from 16 to 17-years-old, about 5 feet 10 inches with a slim build. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants and a black bandana around his head, police said.

The second suspect was described as a male from 16 to 17-years-old, about 5 feet 8 inches with a slim build. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants, police said.
NEW STREET
Later that morning at 4:15 a.m., a robbery took place on New Street, police said.
The victim told officers that five men ran up behind him and grabbed his wallet, which contained $31. The suspects were wearing dark sweaters or sweatshirts, police said.
MAPLE AVENUE
A third robbery took place on Maple Avenue at 5:25 p.m., police said.
The victim told officers that three men approached him, one of whom asked if he had a few dollars to spare. When he pulled about $300 in cash out of his pocket to look for small bills, one of the men grabbed the money out of his hand, police stated.
The men fled south on Maple Avenue, police said.
